Time to plane: Faster
When traveling at 30 mph doing a 180° turn, the boat loses only 1-2 mph and holds in the turns with a strong torque throughout.
The old props would drop off to about 17-19 mph then need to power up again… Top end is about the same
There is a strong feeling of control and better tracking in moderate seas. I am having a hard time explaining all the benefits, but I was ready to sell the boat as I did not like the handling. Now I love the boat!

“After my first sea trial I was not impressed and only saw 1 or 2 MPH improvement in the mid-range RPM. I was pretty concerned about the cost/reward return on investment . I wanted to return it but the engineer wanted me to try a 17 pitch vs. a 15. It was night and day!
The correct prop has so much more power for my boat configuration and I was going a full 8 MPH faster in my mid-range RPM and the turning control was insane. “Handling was improved immensely, it felt like a different boat. I have a 5L stern drive on a 21’ bow rider. Plane speed reduced from the mid 20 MPH range to 20 MPH, and so much quicker to plane. Pulling skiers was much improved with noticeably quicker hole shot. Comfortable cruising speeds were 35 MPH range at around 3500 RPM, up from around 25 to 27 MPH before. Boat runs smoother, quieter, no slip feel on tight turns. Docking was significantly easier as low speed maneuverability is amazing. Without careful documentation it was evident that fuel consumption was down at least 25% but that is hard to accurately confirm on a boat used both for cruising and skiing as I do not know the hours of the different activities for any particular vacation. Sharrow performance exceeded my expectations and made it feel like we had a new boat.”

“I was on the verge of doing a repower of my 33T SeaHunter. My twin Yamaha 350’s were in great shape but I just wasn’t getting the performance I felt that boat needed. The repower was going to cost me somewhere in the 100k area. Then somehow, and I don’t remember how, I saw information on these Sharrow props that were boasting of reducing sweet spot RPM’s and with that improved fuel efficiency. Sounded too good to be true, but I talked with Sharrow and they said that if the props didn’t do what they said they would do, I could return them for full credit. I told them that they must be very sure of themselves or crazy to offer such a deal. I decided that if the props did what they said that I wouldn’t need to repower so the order was put in.
I received the props and my Yamaha mechanic couldn’t wait to put them on. I believe he was so excited to see them that he didn’t even charge me to swap out my props. Well, I will just come out and say they did what was advertised. My sweet spot in the past was about 4700 which always felt like too much strain for those 350’s. Now I get up on plane at around 3800 and reach my sweet spot at 4000 to 4100, reaching the same speed I did at 4700 with the old props. That is the fuel efficiency baby!!
That is all great and worthwhile on its own but the props did something else that no one told me before I tested them. At lower speeds, like when you high speed troll for wahoo I can maintain that speed of 15 to 20 MPH without constantly adjusting the throttles. The boat has this feel of consistency that is hard to explain if you never run a boat at those uncomfortable speeds. So I tip my hat to those people at Sharrow because they really did build a better mousetrap.”

“I first read about the Sharrow prop in January of 2021 and was intrigued by the performance figures. My boat is a 25’ SeaCat catamaran, manufactured in 1997 and powered by twin Honda 150’s. I paid for 2 props at that time and was told that I would have the props in the late spring. The company ran into unexpected production problems and that date was delayed. In early August, 2021, two people from Sharrow arrived in South Louisiana at my fishing camp with 2 prototype props to try on my boat. We tested those props against my Honda SS props and found that the Sharrow props delivered from 10% to 25% better performance.
Then, on August 29th, 2021, Hurricane Ida hit South Louisiana and my entire camp was destroyed, leaving only the concrete slab where my boat/trailer shed once stood. I called Greg Sharrow at that time and told him to take me out of his delivery schedule and that I would contact him when I rebuilt. I contacted him again in late spring of 2022 and Greg told me that I would have my props in the summer of 2022.
The props arrived in late July, 2022, and were installed on my boat. My excitement level ran high as I ventured into the Gulf of Mexico with the Sharrow props installed on my 150 hp Honda motors! “As a long time outboard enthusiast and marine technician, I was intrigued by the unique design of the Sharrow Propeller ever since reading about it several years ago. Recently a nationally published boat test and video comparison of the Sharrow prop with a popular conventional propeller sparked my interest. I contacted Sharrow Marine for more information and was invited to experience a comparison myself on a boat that was only a few hours from my home.
The rig was a 35’ Contender with triple Yamaha 300 hp outboards. With a Sharrow representative we tested the Contender back to back first with the recommended Yamaha props and then with the Sharrow props.
